Places to Visit on Your First Trip to Tampa

Located on the Gulf Coast, the city of Tampa is the third most populous one in the state, ahead of it are Jacksonville, and then Miami.

This top-tourist city has such status not without reason. So, whether you’ve chosen to go there or are just curious to know what Tampa could offer, scroll down and get acquainted!

1. Have Fun While Visiting Busch Gardens

It is a theme park, which is the perfect weekend getaway! It combines exciting first-class coasters, live performances, and over 10,000 animals! Here, you can challenge Falcon’s Fury, a 330-foot tower, or go racing on Cheetah Hunt.

Cobra Curse and Busch Gardens attractions have been set up lately, so let it put a unique spin on your thrills, having this unbelievable spin coaster. Go for the Serengeti safari tour, where you can get the opportunity to feed the giraffes and see all the animals up close.

You may be surprised to find that not only does the park have rides and attractions, but it has a great focus on wild animals. There is an Animal Care Center that you can enter and at times there will be a veterinarian taking care of an animal. There are exam rooms that have clear glass in front of them so that you can observe what the doctor does with the animals.

2. Enjoy Tampa Electric’s Manatee Viewing Center

A manatee

Have you ever witnessed manatees in front of you? No? Then pay attention to this truly one-of-a-kind experience! The best season to visit this wonderful place is winter, because manatees go there to wait out the cold months. Another aquatic life is available to see too. Pet the stingrays, and explore the butterfly garden, watch various bird species(but make sure you follow the instructions of the team members!).

Lots of activities for young kids are scattered about the area: the educational center, the butterfly garden, and other exhibits. For your convenience informational signs are set up, therefore you could both navigate and get information about an animal easily.

Except for the wildlife part, the viewing center has many other entertainments to bring you fun! Nature trails, a 50-foot high look-out observation tower, hurricane wind speed machine! And that’s not all. Go and chill out with the whole family.

Alamo rental car at Tampa Airport can help you to pick up one of the best USA cars for rent to travel with the entire family in comfort! Whether you’re looking for a luxury or cheap rental car in Tampa – you could count on the staff’s professionalism in it!

3. Go Shopping at The Local Public Market

The Armature Works Heights Public Market is a treasure for connoisseurs of food. This fully renovated mixed-use structure revives the historic Tampa Heights area.  It’s an event space, upscale food court, and bars and lounges all in a lofty space.

There is something for everyone, whether it’s grabbing tacos, ice cream, sushi, wine, crafted cocktail, or just a beverage to go walk the river walk at sunset.

There are many fantastic restaurants to choose from, which makes it a great spot for dates, snacks, and just to spend some time enjoying an array of food and drinks. Live music and the calm, elegant atmosphere at the river… you shouldn’t read anymore, just pack things up and be drawn into it!

4. Stroll on Tampa Riverwalk

Tampa River Walk

Modern pedestrian trail, that attracts both citizens and tourists with its scenic, picturesque views. If you want to relax, but without having a blast that’s an exactly good option. Mind only a color-changing LED lighting system along the way.

It seems to be a usual route, but at night it becomes a majestic journey! Invite your beloved person and have a romantic date. Moreover, along the trail, you would come across various sights such as Glazer Children’s Museum, Florida Aquarium, different restaurants, and shops!

5. Visit Tampa Theatre

Constructed in 1926, this grand building still operates nowadays. Someone may call its atmosphere old-fashioned, but we prefer the word “vintage”. Lavish red chairs surround the stage and video monitor.

Tampa Theatre shows both first-run and old films and provides tours of the grandiose cinema palace created by famous architect John Eberson. Use Alamo rental service to move from one to another destination quickly. Get a ticket for a film you like and savor!
